I first read something about a new virus in December 2019, by just checking the news on the web.
My first reaction was interest. It was a new virus in China, and they had started to react to the situation.
Last year the Australian Government had the Christmas Island detention centre re-opened because of changes to medevac laws.
When I saw on TV the PM confirming that Australian people were going to be flown to the detention centre from the cruise ship in Japan, my first impression was: he already knew something else about the situation, and was pleased that he could inform us.
