A revised version of the development application for a choice location at 20 North Creek Road in Lennox Head has been submitted to Ballina Shire Council.

The requested DA covers 2 hectares of the larger vacant site at Reservoir Hill, which has previously been marketed as Crest Lennox Head.
The developer, Ballina Islands, has run into problems with Ballina Shire Council in the past in seeking to develop the entire block, as it contains a wetland area which includes an Endangered Ecological Community and the council had concerns about the biodiversity of the area.

The developer’s response has been this new DA which avoids impacting the important vegetation.
The new DA includes 17 residential lots and associated works, including servicing infrastructure and a new access road.
Ballina Shire Council requirements include the need to manage flood risk to downstream properties. The developer says it has addressed this with the addition of detention basins to not exceed natural water flows from the site.
As one of the last remaining large vacant blocks near the ocean in Lennox Head, locals and potential buyers will be watching the progress of the revised 20 North Creek Road DA with intense interest.
