Thank you for publishing Mandy’s recent article re: the abuse of process and inaction regarding Julian Assange.

I can’t wait to see how long it takes for the Greens to initiate a serious nationwide protest to end this ten year incarceration and bring him home. Failure to do so represents complicity in the corruption and coverups that Julian Assange has exposed.

Perhaps Mandy, as the Greens representative in the region (and hopefully next local Greens member), could keep the community informed of this matter, before he dies.

If we leave it to the government we will have another execution of an Australian citizen on our hands, like the ‘dobbed in’ Bali Nine.

It’s truely unbelievable that he is condemned to torture for alleged corruption when what he was exposing was corruption itself.

You either stand for justice and compassion or stand for nothing.

Support The Echo

Keeping the community together and the community voice loud and clear is what The Echo is about. More than ever we need your help to keep this voice alive and thriving in the community.

Like all businesses we are struggling to keep food on the table of all our local and hard working journalists, artists, sales, delivery and drudges who keep the news coming out to you both in the newspaper and online. If you can spare a few dollars a week – or maybe more – we would appreciate all the support you are able to give to keep the voice of independent, local journalism alive.

  1. Julian spat the dummy & all hell let loose. He is a ‘human being’
to be applauded. Truth was told world-wide. Have some guts,
people. Australia, allow the man his peace. He’s earned it.

    • Don’t conflate the Australian people with the Australian Government. What they do has nothing to do with us.

  2. The Australian Gove is, & has been speaking with
USA & Brits. If they refuge to budge Julian’s future
is a full on take for all oz people on the planet.

  3. Latest on the Brits re Julian… ‘it’s now illegal for journalists to
publish what actively happens in war’. All too cute. The British
government sounded ‘a death deal’ to all journos. Sounds as
if our royal owners are playing Russian Roulette. That’s what
happens when you upset Uncle Sam & gutless Primed-up
Ministers. A sad day for the Land of Oz. A Republic an OK idea.
