Boogie for BayFM
Fundraiser coming to Byron Theatre on 20 January.

Get ready to tear up the dance floor at the inaugural Boogie for BayFM fundraiser! On January 20, for an unmissable night of top-shelf dance music, Byron Shire’s own and only community radio station will transform the Byron Theatre into the hottest club in town.

The stellar line up of resident BayFM DJs will get your feet pumping for 6 hours of funk, deep house and electro-boogie beats.

On the decks

Local dance fiends will know Dale Stephen as co-host of the massive monthly Nudge Nudge Wink Wink party which has been a Shire staple for over 8 years. Dale co-hosts the Solar Love Machine on BayFM every Saturday 4pm-6pm. Sammy KC & Pedro dig deep into funk, nu funk, disco and nu disco on their Tuesday night Funk Me Radio Show, 10pm-midnight.

Sistas of Spin is a high rotation of outstanding local female DJs playing live to air Fridays 6-8pm featuring DJs like Ria Listic, who has been lighting up dance floors with a passion for house music since the late 90s. Mix Mistress Balasko also loves upbeat dance tracks that get your booty shakin’.

DJ Lainie Godiva is on the Boogie for BayFM bill. Photo supplied.

Ex Wax Addict Andrea Jones spins vinyl classic mixes, and Lainie Godiva sets the pace on the decks.

These seven awesome DJs are set to make you get down and Boogie for BayFM this summer, all for the love of the frequency – 99.9 – point one degree below boiling.

BayFM is the most easterly station in the nation and has been broadcasting the best beats across the Northern Rivers airwaves for over 30 years.

It’s 100 per cent independent, volunteer-run and not-for-profit with studios right upstairs from the Byron Theatre.

There will be a Food Truck on site on the night and Monster Raffle draw with prizes including two nights at Crystal Brook with brekky & dinner included (valued at $1000), a Munroe surfboard (valued at $1,100), and a family studio portrait session with Hugh Stewart (valued at $350).

Boogie for a great cause

BayFM postponed its 2022 fundraiser to focus on the flood recovery effort. Now it’s Byron’s local radio station’s turn to raise the roof and raise some funds. All proceeds from this event will help update studio equipment and fund essential operations into the future.
