About 2.50pm Monday, 5 February emergency services were called to Summerland Way, New Park, Kyogle following reports of a multi-vehicle crash.

Officers attached to Richmond Police District arrived to find a utility and hatchback had collided.

The driver of the hatchback, a 78-year-old woman, was treated at the scene before being airlifted to Lismore Base Hospital in a critical condition by the Westpac Rescue Helicopter service.

The driver of the utility, an 81-year-old man, was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Lismore Base Hospital in a serious condition.

Police established a crime scene and are investigating the cause of the crash.

  1. I think your paper is marvellous in its local reporting. Keep up the good work, everybody. The aged pension does not provide spare money most of the time, so it’s not easy to donate to worthy causes such as this local/regional newspaper.
