It is not up for debate. The International Criminal Court recommends prosecuting Israel’s leaders for war crimes, and the International Court of Justice has ruled that Israel is committing a plausible genocide, illegal military occupation, and apartheid, demanding complete withdrawal from Palestine.
Genocide is the most heinous crime, and under international law, everyone should oppose it. The Northern Rivers Friends Of Palestine is committed to anti-racism, anti-apartheid, and anti-genocide.
We have been accused of ‘causing division’, but opposing genocide is not divisive. It is divisive to deny, justify, and support genocide, which is both morally abhorrent and legally punishable in some countries.
Genocide supporters are constantly spying on us, recording us, and trying to shut us down. They harass performers and venues while we raise life-saving funds. We have faced attacks, vandalism, and smears despite our strong anti-racism stance.
While families in Gaza mourn their children, genocide supporters centre their feelings over Palestinian lives being destroyed by Israel.
Despite dehumanising racism, the Australian Palestinian community doesn’t have the privilege to focus on this abuse because we are trying to stop our children from being murdered every ten minutes in Gaza.
It is not the job of the Palestinian community to be silent for others’ comfort; our job is to resist genocide and racist tyranny until we are free of it.
We would love to host a joint anti-racism and human rights conference but so far our efforts have found very few partners for peace, mostly just spying and backstabbing.
We will not be silenced, and just like all compassionate humans, we will always prioritise children’s lives over the feelings of genocide supporters. Boycott genocide and apartheid – join bdsmovement.net now.
