
It wasn’t just people but also businesses that were severely impacted by the devastating 2022 floods. Broadwater Sugar Mill says it is celebrating the fact that having ‘had its fair share of challenges since the catastrophic flooding in early 2022 the Broadwater Mill is back to, if not better than, its former glory as the largest volume sugar mill in NSW’.
With around $30 million in damages following the 2022 floods The Broadwater Mill brought the factory back into full operation in just a matter of months following the floods. The Borawater Mill is now celebrating a record of 441 days Lost Time Injury Free, exceeding the previous record set back in 2014.
Acting Broadwater Operations Manager Mark Campbell proudly announced the achievement at a site BBQ, thanking the team for their diligence with regard to safety.

Sunshine Sugar Chairman and former Engineering Manager at Broadwater Mill, Mr Stephen Wagner then congratulated the Broadwater team for their focus on safety and announced that the Board had approved a $300 bonus payment as a thank you and as a congratulations to each member of the Broadwater mill team.
