There will be short intermittent traffic stoppages on Tamarind Drive near Canal Bridge today, Friday 28 March between 9am and 3pm.
Ballina Shire Council is continuing planning works to duplicate Fishery Creek Bridge on River Street, and Canal Bridge on Tamarind Drive. Pre-construction work has commenced and will continue during the first half of 2025.
As part of the early works for the Canal Bridge Duplication on Tamarind Drive, a drinking water main is being relocated.
Traffic flow will continue both ways on Tamarind Drive, however there may be some delays impacting one direction at a time. Traffic control will be in place, monitoring for any excess queuing and will adapt works accordingly to minimise disruption.
This Council project will be completed across three years and has been funded with $40 million from the Australian Government through the Emergency Response Fund administered by NSW Reconstruction Authority’s Northern Rivers Recovery and Resilience Program 2022-2023.
Council thanks residents for their patience and understanding during these works.
