Forget the blues, Byron local hospitality and event managers have put in extraordinary efforts this Easter long weekend to celebrate music and other performing arts across the shire.
There may not be a festival happening this year but whether it’s electronic dance, rock, reggae, soul, folk, country or yes, the blues, the music is definitely ringing in The Echo’s ears from Bangalow to Billinudgel and beyond.
International and local artists have taken to stages across the Northern Rivers in pubs, cafes and theatres big and small, treating holiday makers and locals to a grassroots Easter festival experience with a uniquely Northern Rivers touch.
Check out some of the snaps from our busy Easter hopping Echo photographer Jeff Dawson, who of course was sure to make it to the Wild Rocket gig!
The fun continues today, be sure to make the most of Easter Monday’s offerings, many of which are listed in our gig guide and last week’s Easter bumper printed newspaper edition.

For four decades The Echo has printed the stories some people loved, some people hated, and some pretended not to read. If you want us to keep telling the truth, the real truth, not the sugar-coated version. We’ll need your support to keep the presses rolling.
