A Tweed Shire commercial fisher pleaded guilty last week to six offences in relation to illegal fishing activity.
Police alleged the Banora Point man had a Commercial Fishing Licence but was charged for the unlawful use of nets or traps, a failure to make records as required and a failure to make a real time report.
Officers from the state’s Fisheries agency under the Department of Primary Industries had been helping police with the case, which last week led to the man’s appearance before the Tweed Heads Local Court.
Police said the case was to continue.
