Essential Energy say contractors will carry out vegetation management around the electricity network in parts of Myocum on Thursday, 4 June.
Essential Energy said in a statement, ‘Owing to the machinery required to safely complete the work, including a large crane, Tyagarah Road will be closed to traffic in both directions between Fig Tree Lane and Pinegroves Road from approximately 8am to 3pm’.
‘Traffic control will be in place to manage the closure and assist with detours. Motorists will need to use alternative routes and should allow additional travel time, with detours expected to add around 10 kilometres to some trips.
‘Customers affected by any associated power outage will be notified directly.
‘Vegetation management is an important part of maintaining a safe and reliable electricity network. Trees growing too close to powerlines can cause power outages and pose a significant safety risk to the community.
‘Essential Energy thanks the community for its patience and understanding while this important work is carried out. For more information about how Essential Energy manages vegetation near the network, visit essentialenergy.com.au/vegetation’
