Lachlan Hall says he’s putting his hand up in Labor’s internal preselection process to stand as his party’s candidate for Ballina.
In a statement he said, ‘This preselection will be decided the way Labor decides things: by an internal democratic vote of our members from, from Ocean Shores to Ballina, Mullumbimby to Alstonville.
‘Through my years working for NBN, I have travelled across every part of this electorate. I have been in the living rooms, on the driveways and at the front gates of households from the coast to the hinterland, and it has given me a genuine sense of what matters to people here: secure work, housing they can afford, services that reach them, and a river and environment they can be proud of.’
Passionate advocate
Mr Hall goes on to say, ‘I am a passionate advocate for the environment, civil liberties, and for the workers that hold our communities together. If elected as Ballina’s state representative, I’ll push for the end of native forest logging in NSW, a clean-up of our Richmond River and much more.
‘Labor in government has done real things: the Great Koala National Park, a proper pay rise for the nurses, teachers and paramedics who went a decade without one, and a line held against privatisation across the regions.
‘Ballina should have a voice in government and be a part of the future, not watch from the sidelines,’ said Mr Hall.
