A woman has been charged after the body of a man was allegedly located on a property near Ballina.
About 12.10pm yesterday (Thursday, 3 September 2026), police were called to a home on Teven Road, Teven, after reports of a concern for welfare.
During a search, officers allegedly located the body of an 81-year-old man in a creek on the property.
It will be alleged that the man and woman were known to one another.
A 51-year-old woman was arrested at the scene and taken to Lismore Police Station where she was later taken to Lismore Base Hospital for assessment.
The woman was released into police custody at about 10.25am today (Friday, 4 September 2026) and taken back to Lismore Police Station where she was charged with murder.
She has been bail refused to appear at Bail Division – Court 1 tomorrow (Saturday, 5 September 2026).
