lifeguard-shutterstock_97617143A man remains in a serious condition in Gold Coast Hospital after he was pulled from the surf unconscious by lifeguards at Byron Bay’s main beach on Friday afternoon.

The Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter was called to the scene at around 4.20pm and flew the man to the hospital at Southport.

No further details are available.
