A house that caught fire in Byron Bay yesterday (Tuesday April 21) could pose an asbestos risk to anyone planning to take a look around, police warn.
The public is being warned to stay away from the Blackbutt Place home, where fire broke out in the carport of at 2am.
A car and several motorbikes were damaged before the fire took over the house and by the time fire engines arrived it was well alight. It took three hours to bring the blaze under control.
The occupants of the home, Naomi Tatum, her partner Andrew James Brooker and friend Ryan Walsh escaped unharmed but the house is badly damaged.
Ms Tatum posted these pictures on her Facebook page after the incident, along with the comments, ‘We love everyone so so much for all your support. I can’t believe we lost our everything.’
Police are still investigating the cause of the blaze.
