Two men have been charged after simultaneous drug raids on two north coast properties on Wednesday, just days after Richmond Local Area Command launched its Dob in a Dealer campaign.
About 9.30am (Wednesday 25 May 2016), officers attached to Richmond Tactical Assault Group raided a property on Boundary Creek Road, Bentley.
Inside the home, police allegedly located over 15kg of cannabis, as well as 71 cannabis plants, and shot gun ammunition.
A Holden Commodore, which was reported stolen from Grafton in 2006, was also seized.
A 33-year-old man was arrested at the address and taken to Lismore Police Station where he was charged with one count each of cultivate cannabis; cultivate cannabis by enhanced means – commercial quantity; supply cannabis (deemed) trafficable quantity; possess prohibited drug; possess prescribed restricted substance; possess ammunition, and goods in custody.
He was refused bail to appear at Lismore Local Court tomorrow (Thursday 26 May 2016).
At the same time, police executed a search warrant at a home on Hartleys Road, Larnook.
At that address police allegedly seized about 39 grams of the drug ‘ice’, as well as a substance believed to be heroin.
An amount of MDMA, cannabis seeds and leaf, as well as an amount of cash were also seized.
A 33-year-old man was arrested and taken to Lismore Police Station where he was charged with two counts of supply prohibited drug, five counts of possess prohibited drug, and one count of deal with proceeds of crime.
He was also refused bail to appear at Lismore Local Court tomorrow (Thursday 26 May 2016).
