John Davies, Mullumbimby
On Sunday night at the Drill Hall, I saw the other side of The Echo editor. No longer will he be the hard-nosed iconoclast ripping into councils or other collective fools.
For ever, etched into my mind, will be the mild mannered, gentle double bass player. Not only is he note perfect, but he shows a wonderful sense of harmony.
The two other musicians were excellent, as they would need to be. Unlike so many others, the drummer was hardly noticeable, but he would be missed if he was not there. The keyboard player/singer matched the other two, but I think she would contribute more to their sound had she been able to play on a traditional piano.
Oh, their support – Mandy Nolan, and guests, were not bad either!
