Keith Duncan, Pimlico

In the months leading up to the American presidential election in November we are about to witness the mother of all state-sanctioned political misinformation campaigns the neo-conservatives have ever unleashed.

Donald Trump should be hung, drawn and quartered for his appalling mishandling of the COVID-19 catastrophe in the US alone; notwithstanding the abysmal insult he and his cohorts continue to perpetrate on the entire world.

This morally-bankrupted sociopath, who has somehow managed to weaponize stupidity and bring an entire country to its knees within four years is an insult to the human-race. But what makes him so dangerous is his ability to influence the logically-impaired masses who are amazingly unable to comprehend that this cheap bullshit artist is destroying their country.

The western world has been in decline since Trump’s election, democracy itself will struggle to survive another four years of this insanity. If the outlandish spin and perpetual lies by neo-conservatives to first gain, and then remain, in power become the norm, the world, as we know it, may be over.

One would think that most Americans would’ve had a gutful of this pitiful excuse for a human being and, come November, would firmly apply the boot. But Trump has powerful backers, like Murdoch, who are intent on keeping him in power, their own futures depend on it.
