Eleven-year old Australian guitar prodigy Taj Farrant recorded his debut single last month at Lucky Boy studios, based in Byron Bay.

Just Can’t Sleep was produced by legendary guitarist and sound engineer Geoff Wright, and features local musicians Grant Gerarty (drums) and Thierry Fossemale (bass).

The single’s release is planned for September 21.

Byron local Scott Dorsey manages Taj and says, ‘In the last 12 months, Taj has appeared on Ellen and performed live with Carlos Santana, KISS, Rob Thomas, Orianthi and Human Nature’.

‘He has over a million followers online, with over 60 million video views in the last three months alone’.

Support The Echo

Keeping the community together and the community voice loud and clear is what The Echo is about. More than ever we need your help to keep this voice alive and thriving in the community.

Like all businesses we are struggling to keep food on the table of all our local and hard working journalists, artists, sales, delivery and drudges who keep the news coming out to you both in the newspaper and online. If you can spare a few dollars a week – or maybe more – we would appreciate all the support you are able to give to keep the voice of independent, local journalism alive.
