Keith Duncan, Pimlico

The resounding election win by Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk, must be ‘the sweetest victory of all’. She endured a massive campaign of bullying and intimidation by: the usual bias in the Murdoch media (Liberal-National party stooges); PM Scott (never my fault) Morrison and his minions; irrelevant, outdated radio personalities, (shock-jocks); political opportunists like Clive Palmer and Pauline Hanson, (serial pests); and a totally inept Queensland LNP opposition led by ‘deadly’ Deb Frecklington.

This convincing win by the Labor Premier vindicates her strong leadership in not prematurely opening up Queensland’s borders, against the best medical advice available and putting Queenslanders lives at risk. It must be a devastating loss for the Queensland LNP and their stooges who used every sleazy trick in the book to discredit her.

The LNP hasn’t improved much since the bad old days of the corrupt Bjelke Peterson National Party government (don’t you worry about that). Queenslanders can now rest easy with four more years of good governance without the extreme right-wing policies of the LNP, and Queensland’s strong environmental protection laws will remain safe. Realistically, there were only two choices: amateur hour with the coal-fired LNP, or a professional Labor government, like chalk and cheese really.

Support The Echo

Keeping the community together and the community voice loud and clear is what The Echo is about. More than ever we need your help to keep this voice alive and thriving in the community.

Like all businesses we are struggling to keep food on the table of all our local and hard working journalists, artists, sales, delivery and drudges who keep the news coming out to you both in the newspaper and online. If you can spare a few dollars a week – or maybe more – we would appreciate all the support you are able to give to keep the voice of independent, local journalism alive.

  1. Hi Kieth,
Please move there immidiately, perhaps it would be better for
the Northern Rivers if you moved into retirement ville there
instead of clogging up Tamara’s ineffectual space down here.

  2. Hi Frank.
Thanks for the kind words, much appreciated, but why would I want to leave especially when I’m doing such a great job annoying people like you?
