With most of the votes cast, and counting over until tomorrow, the New South Wales Electoral Commission stats would suggest that there are three clear winners of the mayoral contests in Ballina, Byron and Lismore Shires.

Dementia was recently the leading cause of death in Britain and also the largest killer of women in Australia. Twenty-one years ago, letters here suggested that this would indeed happen, based on prion protein contamination of meat (Mad Cow Disease).

One Echo letter has recommended a communist style censorship of ‘The Echo Letters’ with only letters supporting the government view being printed: just like in China – Voltaire would be so disappointed.

In fairness to that writer, the term ‘concentration camp’, is simply a colloquial expression, while the literal names are: ‘Covid Quarantine Facilities’ or the misnomer, ‘Centre for National Resilience’.

The cancelling of the local markets, the closure of the Mullum Court House Hotel and the ruin of local tourist businesses, prove ‘the restrictions’ are not minor, nor short term.

The freedom provided by ‘double vaccination’ in Israel was quickly abolished; only reinstated after a third jab: there is room for eight jabs on the vaccine card. Talk show host Tucker Carlson asked Dr Peter McCullough, ‘Where is the conversation about the treatment of Covid-19’?

There is no such conversation, because of government policy, not because there is no treatment. All the critics of this writer have one thing in common: they can’t spell.

Support The Echo

Keeping the community together and the community voice loud and clear is what The Echo is about. More than ever we need your help to keep this voice alive and thriving in the community.

Like all businesses we are struggling to keep food on the table of all our local and hard working journalists, artists, sales, delivery and drudges who keep the news coming out to you both in the newspaper and online. If you can spare a few dollars a week – or maybe more – we would appreciate all the support you are able to give to keep the voice of independent, local journalism alive.
