Friends are rallying around a Alstonville High School teacher suffering from cancer, and are appealing to the public for financial help.
Liz Bugden writes on the Gofundme campaign: ‘Hi, my name is Liz and I am fundraising to help Vanessa fight the fight’.
‘Vanessa Christmas has spent 28 years teaching, including over 10 years at Alstonville High School, where she has shaped and supported so many young lives with care, patience, and dedication.
‘She has now been diagnosed with breast cancer, and unfortunately it has spread. Despite this, she is fighting as hard as she can, facing months of chemotherapy, radiation, and ongoing treatment ahead.
‘This means stepping away from the classroom and the students she loves, and being unable to work during this time. The financial pressure from medical costs and everyday living expenses is now a heavy burden on her and her family.
‘This fundraiser has been created to help support her through this fight, with funds going towards Medical costs not fully covered
