A previous Echo letter mentioned a Russian statement: ‘If you send uranium to us, we will send it back to you’, and another letter mentioned the potential long-term contamination of the food supply by depleted uranium (DU).
We now read that the secretary of the Russian Security Council, Nikolay Patrushev, says, following ‘destruction of DU shells in an ammunition depot in the Ukrainian city of Khmelnitsky, a radioactive cloud has been blown toward Western Europe’.
British nuclear scientist, Dr Chris Busby, has said radiation detectors in Poland showed a spike in radiation moving east immediately after the Russian strike on the ammunition depot in Khmelnitsky. What comes around goes around.

For four decades The Echo has printed the stories some people loved, some people hated, and some pretended not to read. If you want us to keep telling the truth, the real truth, not the sugar-coated version. We’ll need your support to keep the presses rolling.
