3,700 homes and businesses throughout Kyogle and surrounding towns will be without electricity from 8am to 4pm on Sunday, 27 August when Essential Energy will be conducting maintenance works to the local electricity network.

Essential Energy stated that the maintenance works to the local electricity network will result in improved power reliability for homes and businesses in the Kyogle local government area and surrounding townships.

The work will enable the replacement of power poles, cross-arms and supporting electrical equipment in the township area, along with general maintenance on the rural electricity network and in Essential Energy’s Zone Substation.

Operations Manager Ranges, Paul McWilliam said, ‘To keep our crews safe while working on the electricity network, a planned power outage will be necessary for just over 3,700 homes and businesses.’

‘Additional crews from other Essential Energy depots including Casino and Lismore will assist local crews to complete the work safely and in the shortest timeframe, to reduce the impact on homes and businesses.

‘We are bringing crews in on a Sunday to minimise impacts on the community, and local schools which will be heavily impacted by the work.’

All affected customers will receive a separate and advance notification to help them plan during the power outage. Customers can view outage information and tips at essentialenergy.com.au/outages-and-faults/outage-tips

‘We apologise for the inconvenience and thank the community for their cooperation while our crews complete this important maintenance work.’ Mr McWilliam concluded.
