There are three things I need to get out of my system.
1. HAMAS certainly did a horrendous and unthinkably evil thing, but the Israelis have been tormenting these people for many years and something was bound to give. Surely the Israelis remember what happened to them in the second world war, and now they’re perpetrating ongoing atrocities on the innocent in Gaza.
To all of those who view their culture in a superior light, a wonderful author, Jacob Bronowski phrases it well – ‘a monomaniacal culture of conquest’.
2. I am so disappointed with the Voice outcome, not that I didn’t expect it really. If Labor had put the campaign into more lowlife language, like the Liberals did, they may have succeeded. There is no one more local in this country than the first Australians and after all they’ve been through at the hands of us whiteys, we should be showing some respect and equality.
3. A huge thanks to our firies. Thank you so much for what you do for us under such difficult and exhausting conditions. Fair dinkum, you’re heroes, and nothing but the very, very best to all of you.
