Students from Mullumbimby High School have been doing their best to get the message across that our native creatures are very precious.
Organised by Deborah Pearse from the Mullumbimby BYS Cottage, around 44 students from the girls groups have completed three murals and a series of wildlife stickers as part of the Young and Wild project.
Two murals are installed at Global Ripple, and one is about to be mounted at Mullumbimby High.
Wildlife plight
The art project aims to raise community awareness around the plight of our wildlife, and the many risks that cause injury and death.
Funding from Global Ripple made the project possible, as did the creative direction of Dale Shaddick, and the support of Mullum High teachers, Gemma Veriga-White (Head Teacher Welfare), and Cameron Johnson (Deputy Principal).
Donations welcome
Anyone wanting wildlife stickers or to make donations to keep the project going, please contact Deb on 0409 170 062.
Well done. Mullumbimby High School.
And here I was thinking that teacher’s pets were an endangered species.
