Bangalow Film Festival is thrilled to announce that it will be returning for its fourth year this March. Set to return to the historic A&I Hall and surrounds the full program will be revealed next Wednesday, February 7.

World-class films, small-town charm sums up the festival perfectly, with a stunning program of films, special music events and masterclasses.

Today we reveal three of the highlights from the opening weekend.

The opening film of the festival is the premiere of A Portrait of Love – a tender and moving portrait of the relationship between Northern Rivers local Roberto Meza Mont and the late Archibald Prize-winning artist Craig Ruddy. A beautiful film featuring many familiar faces. The director Molly Reynolds will be in attendance conducting a Q&A after the film.

Come along for the world premiere of Follow The Rain, a fascinating and visually stunning Australian documentary that follows fungi hunter and acclaimed photographer Stephen Axford who spies an intriguing frosty blue mushroom and becomes the first to document it for science.

They are joined by one of Australia’s finest didgeridoo players Mark Atkins, and multi-instrumentalist Jess Ciampa with the quartet bringing you an intimate, immersive live music event, set to the backdrop of stunning timelapse footage from Follow The Rain.
