Paul, perhaps you might gain more understanding of ‘belligerent mobs’ if you looked a bit closer to home at the ‘belligerent mob’ that is holding native forest logging in place at all costs.
Too bad that the forests are being destroyed, too bad that most reputable, upstanding ecologists and forest scientists agree it needs to stop, too bad it is costing NSW taxpayers millions per year in subsidies. According to the belligerent mob with which you are closely acquainted, none of that matters, only that you keep doing what you’ve always done, and bloodymindedly ignore the huge amount of help that is available to forestry workers and capital to transition out of the forestry industry right now.
