Last week, 60 Mullum High students received certificates of recognition for their contribution to the frozen meal program at the Mullumbimby District and Neighbourhood Centre (MDNC).
Sylvia Amoding from the MDNC told The Echo the students cooked over 300 home-cooked meals, which will feed those who live alone, are unwell or are rough sleepers. These meals are frozen as part of the frozen meal program that is accessible to community for free.
At the MDNC Gulganii Community Pantry, students unloaded and marked off five large pallets of food, equivalent of 4,00kgs, stocked shelves, dehydrated food that was packed and distributed for community.
‘It’s a tremendous contribution’, Sylvia said, ‘And we offer our gratitude and thanks’.

For four decades The Echo has printed the stories some people loved, some people hated, and some pretended not to read. If you want us to keep telling the truth, the real truth, not the sugar-coated version. We’ll need your support to keep the presses rolling.
