Directly elected mayors have already been announced, and now the NSW Electoral Commission has pressed the button to determine the final list of local councillors for the next four years, with all preferences having been allocated.

Here are the people who got across the line in the Northern Rivers, either immediately (by direct quota) or after multiple counts in some cases. Welcome to your new or continuing local government representatives!

Byron Shire

Sarah Ndiaye (The Greens) elected as mayor, with eight councillors:

Kyogle bridge build completed in under three months

Kyogle mayor Danielle Mulholland says a new bridge on Gradys Creek Road, off Summerland Way and north of Kyogle, has opened to traffic. She says it took Council less than three months to build Methvens Bridge.
