There’s nothing like a good dose of sport to get your blood pumping when you reach the ‘Masters’ age of life and the 2025 Lismore Workers Masters Games is on the horizon for those who love to compete.
The 13th edition of the event will bring three action-packed days of sport, friendship and community spirit to Lismore from Friday, September 26 to Sunday, September 28.
Staple in Lismore’s calendar
This biennial event has been a staple in Lismore’s sporting calendar since 1999, and this year features nine exciting sports: Netball, Softball, Lawn Bowls, Oztag, Football (11-a-side), Cricket, Baseball, Golf and Hockey. Whether you’re in it to win it or just playing for fun, the Lismore Workers Masters Games offers something for everyone aged 30 and over.
The Lismore Workers Club has once again proudly signed on as the major sponsor, with the Club also hosting the event headquarters, including the registration centre and social activities. The club’s long-standing support has been instrumental in shaping the Games into what they are today.
A key part of Lismore’s identity
Lismore City Mayor Steve Krieg welcomed the return of the Games, calling it a key part of Lismore’s sporting and cultural identity.
‘The Lismore Workers Masters Games is one of the only regional Masters events still running in Australia. The fact that this event has been part of our community since 1999 shows how deeply sport is woven into Lismore’s fabric,’ he said.
‘The influx of participants and supporters provides a real boost to our local economy and I’m excited to see the Lismore Workers Club continuing their support. Their involvement, particularly after the challenges of recent years, is a testament to their dedication to Lismore and to this event.’
Proud to continue partnership
Lismore Workers Club President Ian Harmon said the Club is proud to continue its partnership with the Masters Games.

This year, the Lismore Workers Club Lismore Cup will take place on Friday, September 26. The schedule for the Lismore Workers Masters Games will be thoughtfully aligned with the Cup, giving attendees the chance to experience and enjoy both iconic events.
A welcome boost to local business
The event is expected to attract players and spectators from across New South Wales and Queensland, delivering a welcome boost to local businesses. From accommodation and dining to retail and tourism, the Games offer an opportunity for visitors to experience Lismore’s hospitality while supporting the regional economy.
The Lismore Workers Masters Games are expected to generate more than $400,000 for the local economy.
Early bird registrations are now open and will close on Monday, 14 July. Standard registrations will remain open until late August.
