Whian Whian Road will be temporarily closed to heavy combination vehicles, such as semi‐trailers, from Monday 9 February to Monday 16 February, says Lismore City Council, as part of ongoing works to restore Simes Bridge.
Council said in a media release, ‘The road will remain open to heavy rigid vehicles and light vehicles during this period’.
‘A full road closure for all traffic is planned for the night of 27 February 2026 to allow for the installation of a temporary bridge. This structure will enable the road to stay open to all vehicles while the broader bridge restoration works continue. A separate Works Notification with timings will be issued closer to the date.
‘Please be aware that the timing and extent of the works is subject to weather and change.
