
Byron Bay High School had multiple swimmers competing at the recent NSW CHS State Swimming Championships.
They took multiple students who competed in individual and relay events.
‘Our Byron Bay High School swimmers competed at the Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre, proudly representing the North Coast team,’ said the school on social media.
Lawson won first place in the 16-years boys 50m freestyle and placed second in 100m freestyle, 100m butterfly. Mattia also took a first place for the 13-years boys in the 200m freestyle and placed second in the 100m freestyle.

‘Congratulations to all our swimmers – just making it to state level is a fantastic accomplishment! These results highlight the dedication of our athletes, their coaches, and the wider community,’ said the school.
‘Best of luck to Mattia and Lawson as they now progress to the NSW All Schools Championships in May. We’ll be cheering loudly for you!’
The 16-years boys relay (Lawson, Jake, Dylan, Mattia) came tenth in NSW, the 13-years boys relay (Michael, Mason, Aoi, Spike) came 17th in NSW, and the 15-years girls relay (Amelia, Eve, Gracie Rose) were exhibition swimmers at the state championships.
