Last week The Echo reported that the additional two housing entitlements granted in the community title (CT) development application (DA 10.2025.275.1) by Elements of Byron resort at the former Club Med site, 144 Bayshore Drive, Byron Bay would increase the house entitlements to 11 across the rezoned area.
Elements of Byron have clarified that while the original rezoning allowed for the potential of nine house entitlements, they ‘currently have six and are proposing a maximum of eight’.
‘There remains the potential to subdivide the residual lot to the north west [of the approved CT], with a landholding of around 30 hectares, to yield up to two additional dwelling entitlements. Should that occur there would then be eight dwelling entitlements across eight lots across the subject land,’ a spokesperson told The Echo.
Two additional lots created as part of the DA outline the public access to the beach and create a ‘community lot across the land zoned C2 environmental conservation, which will have no development’.
