Across Australia, Telstra mobile and mobile data customers have been dealing with widespread outages this morning, from cities to the regions, including the Northern Rivers.
Private customers, businesses, public transport in NSW and Victoria, and calls to Triple Zero from Telstra phones have all been affected, with Telstra so far offering no explanation for the outages. Telstra subsidiary Belong has also been affected.
Optus services are working normally.
Some people are reporting that resetting their Telstra phones or removing and reinstalling sims is working. Other people have found their services resumed after hours of error messages.
NSW Police suggest that if people try to call Triple Zero and can’t get through, they recommend using another device, a landline or Wi-Fi calling.
Telstra have said they will provide updates on the network outage as their tech teams work through a fix.
