Royal Life Saving NSW is the leader in drowning prevention and water safety education in the state and they are introducing a regular training service in Murwillumbah from August, that will be of benefit to all members of the broader community.

Royal Life Saving NSW was the first ‘lifesaving’ organisation in Australia, originating in 1894. In 2019 they celebrated 125 years.

So for over 125 years, Royal Life Saving NSW has saved lives in the community through education programs, vocational training, health promotion initiatives, aquatic risk management services, community development and participation in sport.

Murwillumbah Services Club

Based at Murwillumbah Services Club, Royal Life Saving will be offering training in both Provide First Aid (HLTAID011) and Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (HLTAID009) on the following schedules:
  • Provide First Aid – second Saturday (10.30am) and fourth Sunday (11am) in each month.
  • Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation – second Saturday (10.30am), third Wednesday (5pm), and fourth Sunday (11am) in each month.
Both courses are delivered via a blended model comprising e-learning and face to face delivery, while group sizes have intentionally been kept small to reduce delivery time.
Provide First Aid is run over three hours and costs $150 per person, while Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation takes one hour and costs $56 per person.

To enrol in any of the courses, go to the NSW Training Calendar | Royal Life Saving (select Northern NSW from the ‘Domain’ drop down).

Royal Life Saving is a registered charity, Registered Training Organisation (RTO: 90666), and is a leading provider of nationally recognised vocational qualifications.

Training will be conducted by local Murwillumbah based trainers, so by choosing to access Royal Life Saving training courses you’re not only supporting the leading organisation in drowning prevention and water safety education in the state, you’re also helping to provide employment opportunities for people of the region.

For more information on any of the above, please contact the Northern Regional Office via reply email ([email protected]) or by calling 6651 6266.
