A NSW government spokesperson has refused to answer Echo questions around why NSW Labor are yet to ask the federal government for grant money that was promised for flood-affected residents.

Disappointed in the one-year performance of the Northern Rivers Reconstruction Corporation?

The state’s emergency services and planning ministers failed to clarify when a second tranche of Northern Rivers recovery funds will be delivered and how much when visiting on Tuesday.

As the time between the floods and the future widens and number of people who are still homeless or struggling to keep their home, does not diminish, the community’s faith in the Northern Rivers Reconstruction Corporation (NRRC) grows weaker and people want answers.

Late breaking news! On Tuesday, The Echo discovered that the Northern Rivers Reconstruction Corporation (NRRC) is even worse than they were last week.

The Northern Rivers Reconstruction Corporation (NRRC) is hosting a free industry conference to provide insight into the works required to rebuild the region, following the February–March 2022 floods.

The New South Wales Government website says that the Northern Rivers Reconstruction Corporation leads and coordinates reconstruction activities for essential assets, infrastructure and housing in the Northern Rivers.

NSW Premier Dominic Perrottet is in Lismore this morning and he has just announced a recovery corporation for the Northern Rivers.
