Creator of the Nimbin Roots Festival, Xavier Avogniko, is a true believer in the oneness. It is his aim to create the best world music festival at an affordable price. Xavier wants all Australians to be able to enjoy an event of community, culture and joy.
Starting today, the festival is a gathering spanning three days. The vision that began last year to grow this festival comes from a desire to unite us all.
For their second time Nimbin Roots has the pleasure of introducing to the Australian scene Africa Entsha, who are flying especially from South Africa for this occasion and will perform some of their amazing acapella traditional songs.
Also this year Xavier says he has the honour of hosting one of the most amazing acoustic folk artist coming especially from Fiji, Knox.
These two talented artist will be supported by 23 equally talented band and DJs who hail from all across Australian. The program features many artists and dancers, from local Aboriginal culture man Lewis Walker to bellydancing with the Barefoot Gypsies through to favourite Fyah Walk and The Imprints to name just a few.
The Nimbin Roots Festival will be held at the Nimbin Showground in Cecil St.
