The Pacific Highway has been closed and four people have been injured in a motor vehicle accident involving a truck and a car towing a caravan near Parker Road at Halfway Creek, between Grafton and Coffs Harbour.
Emergency services are on the scene and Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter is transporting an injured, elderly woman with abdominal and chest injuries to Coffs Harbour Hospital.
She is reported to be in a serious but stable condition.
Traffic is affected in both directions, probably until at least midday, and drivers are being advised to postpone travel or use an alternative route.
