The body of a 64-year-old woman whose car was swept off Main Arm Road near Mullumbimby after Thursday night’s flood rains was found on Saturday morning.
About 11.30am on Saturday, police and SES volunteers located the body near the Brunswick River.
Family members raised the alarm after the woman had not come home when expected from feeding her horses on Friday.
Police have yet to formally identify the woman and they continue with their inquiries into the circumstances surrounding her death.
The Main Arm Road was closed for around four hours as rescue crews extracted the vehicle from the river.
