A 34-year-old man has been charged over an assault outside a Ballina pub at the weekend which left a younger man in hospital with head injuries.
Witnesses told police the young man was hit in the head by the older man during a brawl outside the hotel and he fell on the pavement, hitting his head.
Paramedics attended and treated the man for head injuries before taking him to Ballina Hospital where he was reported to be recovering this morning.
The 34-year-old man attended Ballina police station and was charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
