Mandy Nolan’s latest rant is a confused and confusing mix of fear and anger and misinformation, and I am surprised. She usually has an open mind on strangeness.
I first came across Orgasmic Meditation (OM) a year or two ago. It seemed a natural segue to Google slow food and then slow sex. Up popped the book, which I ordered and read, as well as the website.
The point of OM is to allow or give women pleasure without their needing to care or consider the man’s pleasure or expectations. It is a gift of pleasure, free and simple. And helps to balance the books between men and women in the pleasure stakes.
It also gives a man the opportunity to give pleasure without having to ‘perform’. It is a lovely thing to do with your partner or friend.
Whatever clitoral stimulation techniques you use are fine, but the OM organisation introduces a new perspective that is interesting and useful, but not compulsory. Learning can be fun!
I am not sure why Mandy makes a leap into public masturbation, but the book and website don’t recommend it. By the way, I always thought masturbation was playing with yourself, but OMing has two people involved and so is something else. Orgasms are frequent but so are different sorts of pleasure: ‘it’s the journey and not the goal that matters’.
I feel the Onetaste.org has brought something new and interesting to the joy between men and women. I also feel that Mandy has confused OM with Quodoshka and shamanic de-armouring.
Finally, I would point out that there is no charge for OMing; it’s free, so why the angst? Mandy, I think your bullshit detector needs to be recalibrated.
