I’m so pleased to report that a brand new sign has gone up today to finally identify the hamlet of Talofa!
After living in Talofa for nearly seven years, I got tired of explaining to people that Talofa was after the Hayters Hill sign in between the Coopers Shoot turn offs etc.
I felt it was time to advise people of the location by signage particularly as thousands of vehicles travel Bangalow Road between Byron and Bangalow every day!
I wrote to Byron Shire Council last September with my request pointing out that a number of businesses operate out of Talofa and it’s a thriving hamlet worthy of a sign such as those that Hayters Hill, Myocum or Coopers Shoot have.
The sad thing is, I only moved out of Talofa on Sunday and the sign went up three days later. Life is ironic isn’t it?
