A man is in a critical condition after a head-on crash south of Grafton on Saturday morning (April 23).
The crash happened about 1.30am on the Pacific Highway north of Halfway Creek (30km south of Grafton), when a Suzuki Vitara travelling south and a Kenworth B-double truck travelling north, collided in the northbound lane.
A 33-year-old Queensland man who was driving the Suzuki sustained multiple injuries. He was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance Paramedics before being airlifted to Gold Coast University Hospital, where he remains in a critical condition.
The driver of the truck, a 54-year-old man also from Queensland was uninjured and taken to Grafton Base Hospital for mandatory blood and alcohol testing.
Officers attached to Coffs/Clarence Local Area Command are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
