If you think that’s an offer too good to be true, unfortunately you are correct. If you noticed that very small line of text in the Good Taste advertisement for the upmarket Restaurant @ Rae’s last week, and called them, you weren’t alone.
Rae’s said that they were ‘inundated’ with people wanting to take up the offer, which came about solely as a result of an error within The Echo, for which we not only apologise to Rae’s, but also to the very disappointed punters of the Shire.
Having spent last Sunday at Wategos Beach myself, in absolutely stunning weather, all I can say is save up your pennies (or $10 notes) for a special occasion; it’s a wonderful view from the lunch deck there.
This Sunday for example, is their special ‘long lunch’ with Luke and Sebastian playing. It’s a very special time in a special location, but Rae’s is open seven days for lunch and dinner so if you want to feel special every day, you can.

For four decades The Echo has printed the stories some people loved, some people hated, and some pretended not to read. If you want us to keep telling the truth, the real truth, not the sugar-coated version. We’ll need your support to keep the presses rolling.
