A man will appear in court next month after he was charged in relation to illegally possessing seven guns, which were allegedly found lying around his Monaltrie home.
About 4.30pm on Saturday (May 2) police from Richmond Local Area Command visited a home in Durheim Road, .
No one was home but looking through the back door police saw several guns lying about.
Subsequently police inspected the premises with the owner’s permission, finding seven guns and a small amount of ammunition, which they seized.
Lismore detectives charged the owner, a 71-year-old man with unlawful possession of unregistered firearms, not ensuring the safe keeping of firearms and unlawful possession of ammunition.
The man will appear at Lismore Local Court on Monday 27 June 2016.
