Erin gets Loopy

Unafraid to stand for what she believes in, yet friendly and approachable, Erin inspires and uplifts with topics that will touch hearts and open minds; conscious roots music, for complicated times. She finds inspiration in a great love for the planet, and all upon it, as well as in the lighter side of life. Mostly self-taught, her songwriting exudes a unique yet popular style that has evolved through a life of travelling and soul-searching. Immersing herself in the jungle reggae vibe of tropical northern Queensland, backpacking with musical collective ‘The Love Bus’ in Malaysia, founding well-received ‘Animoki’ in Nelson, NZ, and touring with both solo shows and a backing band in recent years, before discovering a more versatile way of presenting complex tracks… and a love for a loop pedal. Erin plays the Poinciana Cafe on Friday at 5.30pm.

Bill, Pete & Sara

Bill Jackson has firmly established himself over the past few years as one of Australia’s finest singer/songwriters. He achieves this by marrying compelling melodies and fine musicianship to clever, witty, poignant lyrics that never underestimate the intelligence of his audience.

Steel & Bone was awarded Folk Alliance Australia Radio Presenters Album of the Year in 2008 and his 2011 album Jerilderie was The Cowboy Sweetheart’s Album of the Year on BayFM. More recently Bill and his songwriting brother Ross have embarked on a three-album project The Wayside Ballads – recording around 30 songs on two continents in a relatively short time. Vols 1 and 2 have been released to great acclaim and Vol 3 is in the works. Bill Jackson will be performing with multi-instrumentalist Pete Fidler, who just released his own solo album Buzz In The Room. Together they have toured the US four times. US website acousticmusic.com described Fidler as ‘ranking up there with a handful of people on my best of dobro/resonator players’ and of Jackson and Fidler being ‘joined at the hip’ in a ‘symbiotic musical relationship’.

Local legend Sara Tindley will open the evening with a wonderful batch of new songs. Sara recently began recording her fourth album. Saturday at Club Mullum at Mullumbimby Ex-Services at 7.30pm. $23 or $25 at the door or trybooking.com/211410z
