Two drug seizures took place yesterday, January 30, by the Richmond Local Area Command totalling over $10,000.
A man was charged with two counts of supplying a prohibited drug and possessing a prohibited drug after his car was stopped and searched in Ballina just before 7am. He is alleged to have had both a small amount of cannabis and several small packages of cocaine in his car. He was refused bail and will appear at the Lismore local Court on Tuesday February 7.
In a second incident officers seized approximately $10,000 in cash and other drug paraphernalia from a property at Skennars Head, near Ballina, yesterday afternoon. The drugs were found in two shipping containers on the property and police located cocaine, MDMA, cannabis, cannabis resin and cannabis seeds.
Two other substances, a powder and a crystal, were also located and will be forensically tested. A police spokesperson said it will be several days before the forensic test will be back.
No one was at the property when the search warrant was executed.
