The Byron Beez men’s basketballers have notched up another win to maintain their top spot in the Sunshine conference.
Playing away to Ballina the Beez had no real advantage in the first half against a very determined side, and the scores were close to level at half time.
In the next two periods Byron picked up the pace and were able to come away with a convincing 82–64 win.
‘Michael Baggaley and Ryan Holm really stepped up the second half,’ coach Alvin Caoyan said.
‘We managed to stop their shooters then we pulled away,’ he said.
The women Beez were well beaten 77–28.
‘They were down a couple of ball handlers and the team really struggled in the press to get the ball up the court,’ he said.
The Beez next play at home at the Cavanbah Centre on Saturday night, April 22 from 4.30pm.
