A man has died after being shot in an incident in Grafton yesterday.
A critical incident team will investigate all circumstances surrounding the shooting in Grafton on Sunday afternoon when a yet to be identified man was shot dead by police.
Police say that during a confrontation staff were called to a unit on Turf Street, a man allegedly confronted officers with a knife before being tasered by an officer and then shot.
The incident which happened at around 3.45pm following reports of a disturbance, will be the subject of critical incident team investigation and that investigation will be subject to independent review.
The officers treated the man at the scene until the arrival of NSW Ambulance paramedics. He was taken to Grafton Base Hospital in a critical condition, before being airlifted to the Gold Coast University Hospital where he died.
No further details are currently available however, police are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
